Dan Jackowitz is a Licensed Marital & Family Therapist who earned his Master’s Degree at Western Seminary San Jose. He has practiced as an MFT since 1999, seeing clients at Advent Group Ministries, a ministry to teenagers caught in drug & alcohol addiction located in San Jose. Dan worked at Advent for 10 years, ministering to teens & their families, as well as individuals, couples, & families from the community. His great joy was to take abused, traumatized, and scared teens and work to create a hopeful, helpful, and fun therapeutic relationship. Dan has also worked as a school counselor at Shirakawa Elementary school in the Franklin-McKinley school district working with children from K to 8th grade and their parents.
Dan enjoys working with teens and adults who are looking to grow and change from where they are to where they want to be. His passion is to help people understand themselves better and make better choices that fit who they are and who God created them to be. Dan has led groups in anger management, emotional grooming for teen girls, and parenting teens. He has an easy going style, is a good listener, and loves bringing insight to his clients. Dan’s training as a strategic coach helps him in asking insightful questions that lead his clients to big discoveries, foundational change, and a more fulfilling life.
Dan is married to his wife, Cindy, and together they have two young children, ages 3 ½ and a newborn. He enjoys singing, comic books, hiking, and spending nights changing his new baby.
