Joanne Kim is a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who earned her Master’s degree at Western Seminary, San Jose. She received her B.A. in Political Science (International Relations) and Japanese Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.

Joanne has been doing private tutoring for over 13 years in various subjects, teaching over 80 students from different age groups, life stages, socio-economic statuses, and ethnic backgrounds. Upon graduation, she also served as the Pastoral Director at a local church, facilitating the emotional and spiritual development of leaders and equipping them with lay counseling, self-care, and relational skills.

More than anything, Joanne loves connecting with people from all walks of life and hearing their stories. She is actively involved in her church and desires to empower others to live more wholesome, meaningful, and satisfying lives.

Joanne’s specific focus areas are primarily related to identity development, relational issues, trauma and abuse, grief and loss, and emotional health.

In her spare time, Joanne enjoys spending time with people, learning, playing guitar, watching movies, and going on walks.
