Luke Wilkerson specializes in bringing healing and restoration to broken and dysfunctional relationships. He understands how painful events lead to realities of mistrust, hopelessness, anxiety, anger and withdrawal. He recognizes how easily dysfunctional and harmful patterns can be sustained in romantic relationships, among families, and within other interpersonal relationships. Luke works with his clients to identify the circumstances and patterns causing distress and partners with them to practically develop and practice new patterns. Luke has broad experience working with couples who are fighting to keep their relationship alive or have experienced trust violating events or a lack of intimacy.

Luke received his Master of Science degree in Marital and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary. He is trained in Dr. Terry Hargrave’s Restoration Therapy and works with clients to develop healthy, functional emotions and behaviors that foster thriving relationships. Luke is a certified Prepare-Enrich facilitator and frequently uses this program to offer premarital counseling. He is a trained Marriage Strong psychoeducator and certified Family Wellness instructor. Luke has experience working with individuals of a variety of cultures, ethnicities, and spiritual beliefs.

Luke is the Young Adults Pastor at Peninsula Covenant Church in Redwood City. He has a foundational belief that God is in the business of redeeming and restoring us. Isaiah 61 paints an image of God working through His followers to heal the brokenhearted, comfort those who mourn, create beauty from ashes and repair and rebuild what was once in ruins. Luke believes God works in such ways through psychotherapy: a unique and effective opportunity for healing and flourishing amidst life’s struggles.
