ABOUT MARY:
Mary has a warm welcoming presence with her clients. She works primarily with men, women and families. Mary blends her faith in God’s unfailing love with professional training and 20 years of clinical experience. Her joy is to see people begin to live in freedom—as they take in God’s love and acceptance, personally, through the therapeutic relationship. Clients often enter therapy burdened with layers of self-doubt, negative self- evaluation, and the harsh, untrue judgments of others. Part of the process of therapy is to unpack and gradually disempower these harmful beliefs about ourselves. Mary often works with adult survivors of scarring traumas: emotional; spiritual; physical; sexual. With some clients she uses a specialized tool of therapy—Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing—EMDR. Mary believes that EMDR is a tool the Holy Spirit uses powerfully, in healing these wounds. She has seen transforming outcomes with many clients. Mary is a graduate of UC Berkeley and did her Master’s work at Cal State Hayward, in Clinical Counseling. She received her state license as a Marriage & Family Therapist in 1992. She has worked with Christian Counseling Centers for over 20 years. On a personal note: Mary has been married for 30+ years. Mary is a mom and grandmother. She serves actively at Creekside Community Church, San Leandro, and in the community.
