Welcome, my name is Michael Vasquez and I am a Bay Area native born and raised. I am married and we have five children. I have an affinity to learn new things and I enjoy a challenge. I enjoy science fiction films, astronomy, space travel and aeronautics including attending air shows for fun.

I received a Bachelor’s of Arts and Master’s degree in Social Work from San Jose State University. I have worked for the County of Santa Clara/DFCS for 18, almost 19 years. I have been employed as a Child Protection Social Worker in various areas of specialization including Adoption, Substance Abuse, Dual-Diagnosis, Domestic Violence, and general concerns with child abuse and neglect. I have extensive experience involvement with the court system as well. My more recent experience has been in working with youth and adolescents facing significant stabilization challenges due to severe exposure to Trauma, Grief and Loss.

I enjoy working with youth and adolescents who may have experienced significant trauma, grief, loss, and adjustment challenges. Exposure to maladaptive conditions in a family dynamic including child abuse, neglect and abandonment may have contributed to this. My passion comes from addressing these issues with youth and families, of no fault of their own, who are experiencing high levels of pain and suffering, which present as behavioral and school challenges. My goal will be to assist in alleviating the ongoing suffering you are facing and get you on a life path of joy, fulfillment, and being your best self, while improving the relationships around you. My person-to-person genuine approach will assist in generating a trusting therapeutic relationship. I believe therapy can happen anywhere and often see my clients in the community.

I coach Flag Football and my son is a part of our team. I also enjoy occasional video gaming, watching movies, going to the beach, amusement parks, and hanging out with friends and family.
