 ABOUT RACHEL:
Rachel is a Marriage and Family Therapist Trainee attending John F. Kennedy University to obtain her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. She is expected to graduate by the end of 2019. Rachel also completed the Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor program (CADC) at Cal State East Bay University while working in the substance abuse field. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at San Diego State University.

Rachel worked as a substance abuse counselor for six and a half years with both adolescents and adults, individually and in groups. She first worked in a clinical addiction treatment center in San Francisco while also assisting on two research studies as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy counselor. Later on, she was a prevention education counselor at two high schools in Berkeley. She also worked with children at an elementary school in San Francisco as an after-school counselor in her previous traineeship. Rachel has helped many clients address mental health, addiction and behavior using warmth, compassion and sensitivity. Additionally, Rachel loves to learn about clients’ unique gifts and talents. She enjoys helping clients develop their natural talents into personal strengths. She hopes to continue this work with new clients and broaden her knowledge of therapy and the mental health field.
