ABOUT SARAH:
Beginning her career in Student and Family Ministries at Concord Church in St. Louis, MO, Sarah has over 15 years of experience working with individuals and families dealing with crisis and conflict. She began counseling in private practice in 2012 in an effort to be able to better assist her community in finding hope and healing through understanding their stories and how these stories are impacting their present relationships. As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, she provides a supportive relationship where you can learn the tools you need to change the ways you face the stressors in your life, new ways of approaching difficult relationships, and how to effectively manage depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues.
Sarah has a heart for the whole family and a passion to increase mental health awareness in the community at large. Alongside her therapy practice, Sarah travels to schools and churches throughout the Bay Area to educate and empower individuals, families and teams to learn healthy coping and communication strategies to better face the many challenges life throws their way. She also hosts several therapy retreats each year called “Love Your Story” to create space for women to grow in their understanding of themselves while learning to take the pen that writes their futures out of the hand of their past. In addition to working with pastors and community leaders, she and her husband also started Refuge Community Church in 2019 where she supports her church in building an emotionally healthy spiritual community where people can safely explore their questions around faith and build Christian community. In her free time, Sarah enjoys being outside, grabbing a cup of coffee with a friend, and hanging out with her husband and three children (and of course their dog, too!).
