ABOUT SHIRLEY:
Shirley Ailsworth is a licensed marriage and family therapist with nearly 10 years of human services experience. She is passionate about seeing God bring hope and healing to people’s lives. Her experience with adolescents and adults has included clients of various ethnicities and addressed a range of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief & loss to name a few. She is honored to be let into a client’s inner worlds and to witness and support them through their journey of transformations.
Shirley’s work is integrative with strength-based, evidence-based and trauma informed care while forming a collaborative relationship. She earned her Masters of Art in Counseling Psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California.
She enjoys working with preteens, adolescents, individuals and couples. She is trained in emWave HRV Biofeedback, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Gottman Level 1, and is PREPARE/ENRICH certified for pre-martial and marriage counseling.
Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, Shirley spent 25 years in corporate America devoting long hours to meet deadlines. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time volunteering with the SF-SPCA with her dog Bella through their animal assisted therapy program; serving hot meals at Providence Homeless Shelter and laughing with friends and family.
