 ABOUT SUSAN:
Susan considers the therapeutic relationship as one of the key ingredients to effective therapy. Through attentive listening, emotional availability and open-mindedness, Susan strives to provide a warm presence and safe space for clients to explore personal issues. Susan helps clients identify and access their strengths and resources so they can find hope and create meaning, leading to more fulfilled lives. Susan welcomes clients to integrate faith into their therapy experience, as she recognizes the power of faith for many clients in gaining insight and discovering meaning. While Susan has experience working with youths and parents in a school setting, she is particularly interested in aiding individuals, couples, youths, families through transitional stages; in coping with personal issues such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, grief & loss; trauma recovery, and in facing relational challenges.

Susan was born in Hong Kong and raised in the Bay Area. She is fluent in Cantonese. Her professional career began with corporate experience in high technology companies that led to interest in teaching graduate business classes. She became an adjunct instructor, working with masters and doctoral students from various walks of life, including international students from Asia, Europe, the Middle East and South Africa. Through her professional experiences, personal life experiences, continued education and training, Susan believes that God has been preparing her to work in the counseling field.
