ABOUT KEVIN:
“If we remember richly, we must have lived richly.” -Lous L’amour
I’ve always loved this quote by Western author Louis L’amour. It awakens us to the vivid tapestry that life can be. If we look closer, though, the quote shows us something else—the immense power we have to tell the story of our lives based on our own perceptions. What a beautiful and dangerous privilege that is…
Sooner or later, we all seek the truth—about ourselves, the world we live in, and the things we desire, worship, long for, and fill our days with. Counseling can be the flashlight we carry down the dim passageways through which we walk, stumble, and continue our persistent, lifelong journey toward truth. It’s my great privilege to join you on a small part of that journey, even when the flashlight needs fresh batteries.
My Background
I’m a California / Silicon Valley native and have experienced the wild and wooly ride of Bay Area living for decades. I’ve served in local church ministry for over 25 years as a Worship Director and Pastor of Creative Arts, and have also worked in multiple capacities in high tech. I studied English, Creative Writing, and Screenwriting at UCLA and will soon earn an MSED in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. Bonaventure University in New York.
Areas of Focus
All are welcome, of course, but I particularly enjoy working with couples, creatives, families, men, and middle-aged and elderly folks. Other areas of interest include Silicon Valley pressure(s), parenting, anxiety, depression, and narrative/creative therapies.
Fun Facts About Kevin
I’m a lifelong creative, and passionate fan of books, films, art, music, Thomas Merton, vinyl, tiki culture, Nat King Cole, instrumental surf music, Elvis, and college football. Most weekends, I can be found playing music somewhere, often in a worship service or local wine bar—or both! I live in West San Jose with my wife (also a CCC counselor!), our two sons, and a labradoodle named Lani.
