ABOUT PEGGY:
Peggy has been with Christian Counseling Centers for 16+ years. As a seasoned therapist she uses a hope-focused approach when working with couples and individuals. Peggy also gains a tremendous amount of strength and wisdom from her faith, which enhances her sense of value and care for every person. Throughout her work with couples and individuals Peggy has witnessed many flourish and experience amazing life transformations.
Are you experiencing the “crazy cycle” in your relationships? Peggy can help you learn how to master the art of communication. During the counseling session she introduces methods gained through her extensive training from “The Gottman Couples Institute” which uses proven research-based principles for making marriage work. Peggy has also received training with Susan Johnson in “Emotionally Focused Therapy”. This approach sees relationships as an attachment bond to help shape more loving relationships, and to lead couples into a new understanding of romantic love. Peggy has been happily married for 19+ years and draws from her own experiences along with specialized training.
Peggy is a certified PREPARE-ENRICH as well as SYMBIS (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts) facilitator. Both are used for relationship counseling, premarital counseling and marriage enrichment.
Peggy loves working with individuals seeking change to enrich their lives. If you struggle with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues or impact from abuse or trauma, therapy can restore joy and fulfillment to your life. Peggy has received training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which has been shown to process past traumatic information, resulting in helping people cope and function more positively in their current life situations.

“I recently had the pleasure of hosting a marriage conference with Peggy Burns as our guest speaker, and I couldn’t be more impressed with her presentation. She was incredibly informative while keeping the audience engaged. Her approach was not only professional but also culturally sensitive, ensuring that all attendees felt respected and heard. We received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our guests, many of whom praised her ability to connect with the audience and provide practical, valuable insights. I would highly recommend Peggy Burns for any counseling needs as well as for any speaking engagements.”
-Simon Yang, Campus Pastor at Christ Central Church
“Peggy has worked with me and my wife, off and on, for several years. I also recommend her all the time to friends and people in our church. She is a fantastic therapist. She listens well. Gives solid biblical and psychological counsel. She is warm, inviting, caring and has incredible insight into people and their life situations. I highly recommend her.”
-Rob Hall, Lead Pastor New North Church
“Peggy has been an invaluable asset to the work I do. She has worked compassionately and skillfully with so many couples I’ve sent her way. Couples who are stuck in unhealthy patterns, seeking to repair their relationship or looking for tools to get stronger and closer have been helped by her work. I heartily endorse Peggy!”
-Paul Conti, Associate Pastor at Cornerstone Church San Francisco
“Peggy is a tremendous asset with her professional skills in counseling for many of our staff in YWAM San Francisco. The problems and challenges they encounter often trigger issues of stress and trauma in their lives. Peggy really cares about the people she counsels and does an excellent job guiding them in addressing their complex situations. She uses her counseling gifts in many ways that minister deeply to their psychological and spiritual needs.”
