Julie Herman obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. After working as a scientist for a couple of years, she decided to return to school and received a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University.
Julie has been in private practice in Saratoga, CA for over 20 years. She has extensive experience helping clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, codependence, chronic illness, relationship/marital issues, and trauma from past abuse. She also assists clients who are simply wanting to work on reaching their goals. For those clients who are interested, Julie has training in helping individuals address faith-based/Biblical topics.

Julie is trained in Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), object relations/attachment theory, and positive psychology. She also utilizes Gottman marital skills, Imago healing work, the 5 Love Languages, 12-Step philosophy, and various other approaches. She incorporates techniques throughout sessions based on each client’s desires and needs.
In her personal life, Julie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, walking her beagle, hiking in the hills, and singing.
