ABOUT WILSON:
– During Covid, Wilson is taking new clients through online tele-therapy platform –
Wilson is a unique “left & right” brain therapist with multiple clinical licenses and specialties that allows him to provide effective, high impact, and outcome focused services to his clients. As a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), he offers counseling to individuals, couples, and families. As a licensed professional counselor (LPCC), he can extend additional service scope to career counseling. As a licensed advance alcohol and drug counselor (LAADC) & master addiction counselor (MAC), Wilson has deep understanding of how various forms of addictions and trauma (including screen addictions) affects individuals & relationships.
Besides being a therapist, Wilson has a background in engineering, organizational leadership, higher education, non-profits, and business development in Silicon Valley. He enjoys connecting with his clients at where they are, establishing a safe and strength-based experience as they explore issues, set goals, and move forward.
Wilson’s clinical approach is solution-focused, strategic, strength-based, empowering, and experiential. He is trained in various trauma treatment approaches in dealing with childhood or adult trauma, helping clients to get unstuck from unhealthy coping mechanisms, increase capacity to relate meaningfully with self and others, while embracing and reaching their full potentials, as an individual, as a couple, or as a family. Wilson is trained in Christian inner healing approaches (i.e. Heartsync, Immanuel Approach) in addition to clinical approaches (i.e. Trauma-focused CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Brief Strategic Family Therapy, and Gottman Family Therapy).
Wilson appreciates the opportunities in supporting young adults, adults, and couples to navigate through tough seasons of feeling overwhelming, experiencing loss in transitions, and dealing with painful and complex circumstances. His ability to digest a wide range of information quickly with his practical approaches often fit well with those who are in fast pace high stress careers, in leadership roles, and/or in human service industries.
Wilson has clinical experience in serving the geriatric population in San Francisco area, the addiction population in Santa Cruz, and children and family services in the Bay Area. He also has international mission experiences in South East Asia. As a result, he developed a passion in providing multi-generation cross-cultural family therapy, inclusive of generation x, y, and the millennials, helping family navigate through challenges together while addressing both individual and collective needs.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, Wilson is fluent in Cantonese, English, and speaks some Mandarin.
